Stars and Stripes

July's NBUS (Never Been Used Stuff) challenge is to incorporate stars and/or stripes in our projects. I have tons of stripes but the stars were a little more difficult to come up with.  I  wanted to step away from the Fourth of July theme that most people associate with stars and stripes. I found this background stamp from Jubilee that I don't think I've ever used it. It's a confetti type background and difficult to see in the photos. I didn't want the background to over power the cards. I found some feathers in my stash that matched almost perfectly so you'll see those quite a bit with this Jubilee Greetings to Go collection.

While going through my stash for never been used stamps, I decided to use some other neglected (non-Club Scrap) stamps. I love the Tim Holtz blueprint stamps and have quite the collection but haven't used most of them. Here I stamped the background and embossed in white, it really doesn't show up but it gives the background texture.

I used the Position It! to line up the Bon Appetite stripe stamp. I couldn't be happier with the result! One area didn't stamp complete and was super easy to just stamp it again without anyone even knowing. The panel looks like one large background stamp. I just love it when I rediscover a tool!
