The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is hosting a "G is for Gross" challenge.  Totally up my alley with my sick sense of humor.  Unfortunately, I don't have a whole lot of stamps to go with it.  So I improvised with the Blueprints stamps from Club Scrap. I can't count the times I've smashed by thumb with a hammer.  Remember when we had to hammer those stupid eyelets before new and improved tools came out? :)

Happy Hour Color Challenge

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is hosting a coloring challenge which was a perfect opportunity for me to use my new Tim Holtz Blueprint stamps. The California temperatures have been so hot lately that I've been hiding indoors and crafting. These easel cards are 3 1/2 x 5 which is a perfect fit for these images with a fun sentiment on the inside.

Ocean Bliss

 The December 2017 Monthly Layout challenge design was the inspiration for this layout. Now the theme of these papers is Night at the Met but as you can see, paper theme doesn't matter as much as the color harmony.  I love how the blues in the photos are so striking against the purple tones of the paper. The underlying images on the paper are of ballerinas, but upside down and covered with photos they look almost like seashells. Don't let a paper theme hinder you.

Halloween Blueprint Stamps

You know what Halloween means to me?  It's not about costumes and candy...it's about cooler weather on the way! No better reason than that to stamp with my Tim Holtz's Blueprint stamps. I can't get enough of these stamps. Pair them up with a washi tape...easy peasy creations.

Blueprints Meets Oxide Inks

Two of my favorite combinations! Tim Holtz's Blueprint stamps and his Oxide Inks!  I'm in love with how the oxide inks show up on dark cardstock.  All I did here for the backdrop was mush my ink pad onto my craft sheet, add a few drops of water to the ink and flick the ink onto a cardstock panel.   The cupcake was an oxide ink practice piece that I stamped.  I did add a few highlights with Copic markers, cut out the image and used foam squares to give it lift.

Masculine Blueprint Birthday

Recognize this paper?  Yep...it was from that background I created with oxide inks and initially hated it. I've been creating some masculine cards lately and this paper is perfect for them. I thought I'd keep the card simple with all the colors and lines. I stamped the balloon on a separate oxide ink panel, cut it out and mounted it with foam tape. What says "manly" more than twine?!

Last weekend I made a pact with myself to show my neglected stamps some love.  I fished out a few color burst art panels from my stash and started stamping away.  I am in love with the Tim Holtz Blueprint stamps but sometimes I seize up trying to color them.  By using these art panels I really didn't have to do that.

Fussy cut out balloon from cardstock and pop up the balloon for dimension.

Happy Monday!

Can you believe it's October already! I'm so relieved that cooler weather is heading our way. I'll be leaving for Wisconsin in a few days and hope it's somewhat chilly. Of course last year, it was blazing hot and we went to a Packer game in shorts.

 

Towards the end of each month, I organize and put away the remaining supplies from that month's Club Scrap collection. I bring out stamps from other vendors and create some goodies with my neglected stamps and dies. This process allows me to dust off some stamps, find some long lost supplies and also cleans off my work space in the anticipation of the newest release.

 

I'm so in love with the Tim Holtz Blueprint stamps but I sometimes have a hard time creating artwork with them. Thanks to Pinterest I've come up with some fun color combinations.

This card was created for the Card Concept Sweet and Sour challenge. I thought these bright colors would be great for a birthday theme. I chose to do a mixed media style and use Copics, Stickles and Gelatos on my card panel. Even used a drop pearl for the flame.
