Valentine Marbling

I had a blast creating backgrounds using the nail polish marbling technique that Julie demonstrated last summer.  I thought these colors were perfect for Valentine's day.  The backgrounds for the poinsettia lined flowers were stamped on an art panel created by using glossy photo paper and color bursts. You can view the instructions on the Too much of a good thing blog posting.

Craft Supplies

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is at it again with a "V" is for Valentine challenge. I loved making these non-sappy Valentine's Day cards.  With this card, the paper does most of the work. I just heat embossed the sentiment on the heart image. Add ribbon, charm and sequins for some depth. LOVE IT!

Book Exercise

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is hosting their first challenge of the year. B is for "Books" Challenge

This background was created by inking the background stamp with distress oxide inks and then spritzing the stamp with water.  I love the watercolor look of the stamp.

Fintastic

Paper Smooches is hosting an Anything Goes Challenge.  I love when they have this type of challenge.  The possibilities are endless.

Julie over at Club Scrap challenged us to use embossing folders with our stamps.  I embossed a scrap of paper, stamped the whale image onto the embossed paper and then stamped again.  The resulting image will keep the design from the embossed paper.  How adorable did that make these whales?!

Always

Welcome back my crafty friends!

Valentine's day is coming up and I thought this silhouette stamp would be perfect. The background panel was made with Stipple Mists and tissue paper on glossy white paper.  I love the way the background looks outdoorsy.
Just for Fun stamp. Recollections washi tape. Club Scrap paper and stipple mists.

Civilized Wine

Happy First Thursday of the New Year!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I'm sharing my love for wine this month. I'm sure you'll notice a theme as time goes on :)  I have a "two-fer" today.  My original experiment didn't work out as well as I wanted so I created a second panel.

This background was created with Distress Oxide inks and water.  I then spritzed the Wine Background collage stamp with water and applied it to the background panel. I was hoping for a more dramatic impression. The wine bottle is a die cut that was embossed in sections. During my Intro to Winemaking class we learned about the history of wine and this Hemingway Wine Sentiment really is fitting.

Just for Fun stamps. Club Scrap papers, waxed linen and charm. Melissa Francis die. Cuttlebug embossing folder.

This second background is the same distress oxide ink and water technique but I stamped the wine background stamp in brown after the panel dried. I added ribbon and a die cut sentiment.

Just for Fun stamp. Club Scrap papers and ribbon. Nuvo drops. Spellbinders die.
