Grateful

Paper Smooches is hosting a "You are Appreciated" challenge.  With last week being EMS Week I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to make some first responder cards. So grateful for all my co-workers. You guys are survivors!

Quarantini

I'm still having fun sending out some much needed smiles to family and friends during these interesting times. I thought I'd make these little germs pastel colors and join the fun over at Paper Smooches who is hosting a Pastel Color Challenge.

A regular martini
you drink alone...at home.

Hoppy Easter

The latest Paper Smooches challenge is "Animals".  Since Easter is approaching I thought this would be a perfect time to mass produce some cards.  Nothing says Easter like a chocolate bunny :)

Stamp and fussy cut the bunny.  Die cut the honeycomb and use it as a stencil with blending brushes. Add Nuvo drops for dimension on the nose and tail.

The inside of the card reads: "All you need in life is a friend who has chocolate."

Quarantini

I'm using my "shelter in place" time to craft. Taking my mind of the events of the world by singing to the radio and creating some fun cards.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is hosting a "Booze" Challenge.  I was inspired by my fellow West Coast crafter Maria O. to create a Quarantini card.

"It's a regular Martini
but you drink it alone
in your house."

You're Welcome

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is hosting a "Cats Challenge".  This is sooo right up my alley! I have two very sassy kitties that love to "help" craft. I swear I hear them say this EVERY time something hits the floor.

Deep Breath

How soothing is a big hot cup of tea on a cold and rainy day?  I love crafting on these days too.  I usually open the window just a wee bit so I can hear the rain.

Paper Smooches is hosting an Anything Goes challenge.  I've been making tons of coffee/tea/cocoa themed cards and just adore their coffee die. I acutally die cut the corregated paper from a coffee sleeve for a bit of realism :)

I Sea What You Did

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is hosting a "S is for Sea" challenge.  My favorite snarky sea quote is one I've used before repeatedly so I thought I'd branch out to one I've never used before.  It's not so much snarky as a pun on words. The background is Distress Oxide Ink blending and I've been experimenting with different color combinations.

Bee Mine

July's Technique Challenge over at Club Scrap is Black & White.  We're challenged with using a white art medium with our stamps or stencils on black paper.  For this card I used light weight spackle with my Dahlia stencil. I love the stark contrast and dimension the spackle adds.  This has always been a favorite medium for me to use with my stencils.

How striking does this adorable bee look on the dahlia?!
She's perfect for Paper Smooches Anything Goes challenge.

I Heart You

Happy Monday! Paper Smooches Stamps is hosting a Flower Challenge for May. So today I'm featuring thePSS Hibiscus flower stamp  from the Get out of Town and Get out of Town Dies sets. Instead of coloring the image I decided to stamp on a Color Burst art panel and die cut. The background is created by simply spraying with Stipple Mists.

Time to Relax

Can you believe it's May already!?  Time to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine before it gets too hot here in Cali.

Have you ever cut your rubber stamps to just use a portion?  To some crafters this is sacrilegious. To me...it's getting more bang for my buck.  I trimmed a "Hole in One" golf quote into three different stamps.  I now have a birthday stamp, a relax quote and a golf sentiment.

Just for Fun stamps. Club Scrap papers and Stipple Mists. Paper Smooches cloud dies.

To create the background, I sprayed a pool of Stipple Mists on my glass mat and added water.  I used this as my "ink pad" and created a watercolor pine tree image.

Note: Try different papers for different effects. The above photo is on glossy paper.

There's still time to join us for our April Lace Challenge

Just upload your photo to our website for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Just for Fun Rubber Stamp store.

Are You Kitten Me?!

Today I'm a guest designer for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. I won their last "B is for Book" challenge and am honored to start off the "K is for Kitten" challenge. Which is just perfect since I have two kitties running amok in my house right now.

Fintastic

Paper Smooches is hosting an Anything Goes Challenge.  I love when they have this type of challenge.  The possibilities are endless.

Julie over at Club Scrap challenged us to use embossing folders with our stamps.  I embossed a scrap of paper, stamped the whale image onto the embossed paper and then stamped again.  The resulting image will keep the design from the embossed paper.  How adorable did that make these whales?!

Let's Toast

I hope you are all having an amazing holiday season!
Ribbon is one of my favorite embellishments for cards. It's flat, easy to adhere, relatively inexpensive and I have TONS of it.

WassUp Foxy?

Paper Smooches Stamps is hosting a mood board challenge for November. This type of challenge allows for all sorts of inspiration. It's one of my favorites.

I was attracted to the little fox and the colors from the mood board and created this box stand up box card. The instructions for cutting and scoring this type of card are included in the Gone Wild Card kit.
The card folds back to lay flat for easy mailing.

Briny Bon Voyage

Paper Smooches is hosting a Clean and Simple Challenge which always seems to be the most difficult challenge for me. I like to add "stuff" and white is generally not the color I create with.

1. Die cut Color Burst art panel. Stamp sentiment
2. Stamp and die cut Briny Blue images.
3. Add googly eyes for fun :)

Inked Shadows

Happy Sunday!

September's technique challenge over at Club Scrap is to create shadowing around your stamped images with ink.

Start by stamping your image on your art panel and a second stamped image on your masking paper.  Trim the image to create a mask. Line up the mask over your stamped image and apply ink lightly around the mask.  Color stamped images. Trim finished panel down to card size and add embellishments.

I'm finally getting around to playing with my Club Scrap Tapestry card collection. I adore the round metal frames that come with this kit! Stamped images are from Moroccan Spice.

Club Scrap papers, stamp, ribbon and metal and jewel. Paper Smooches sentiment stamp. Copic markers.

Now, it’s your turn!  Link your Inked Shadows artwork for a chance to win a prize from Club Scrap! Simply add your image to the Linky Party (please caption artwork with your first name and last name’s initial) below between now and September 30, 2018.

Leaf Wreath

Autumn is my favorite time of the year! I love the cool evenings, leaves changing colors and pumpkin spice chai lattes :) When I received this soon to be released leaf stamp by Just for Fun Rubber Stamps I couldn't wait to make something fallish.

To create this stamped image I used my homemade version of Gina K Designs wreath builder template. I stamped the leaf multiple times and colored the images with my new favorite Chameleon colored pencils.

Kitten Me?

Less is More is hosting a Pet's Challenge which is one of my favorite challenges!  To keep this card clean and simple I chose to just stencil in a few paw prints for the background.  I absolutely had to add googly eyes to these adorable cat images. They add so much personality. :)
