Bee Mine

July's Technique Challenge over at Club Scrap is Black & White.  We're challenged with using a white art medium with our stamps or stencils on black paper.  For this card I used light weight spackle with my Dahlia stencil. I love the stark contrast and dimension the spackle adds.  This has always been a favorite medium for me to use with my stencils.

How striking does this adorable bee look on the dahlia?!

Anniversary Silhoutte

I am loving my Distress Oxide Inks!  I took several days of crafting to work on my blending techniques and just fell in love with this color combination inspired by Kristina Werner.  The background blending uses Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Seedless Preserves. To complete the card I stamped the Couple at the River Edge silhouette stamp and added a title.

Oops

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is hosting a "Birds and the Bees" challenge.  I have absolutely no pregnancy stamps or quotes but found this adorable stork from Jolee's. You always hear those "oops baby stories" :)  Congratulations Edna!

Sending Hugs

Cupcake Inspirations is hosting a Shades of Yellow challenge.  I have to admit that yellow is not usually a color I run to when crafting unless it's a Green Bay Packer's layout :) It's quite an uplifting and happy color that's perfect for sending someone some sunshine.

Independence Day

Happy Fourth of July my crafty friends! I hope you have a safe holiday!

Last month's challenge was to create cards using stencils.  I seemed to have gotten carried away and created numerous backgrounds.  This Firecracker stencil (sold out) is one of my favorites from Club Scrap and absolutely goes perfect with the Just for Fun Statue of Liberty silhouette stamp. I'm traveling to NYC in a few months and can't wait to use this stamp on a few scrapbook pages as well.

Gentle Breezes

Welcome to Just for Fun Rubber Stamp's newest challenge. This month Heidi has challenged us to create cards with a water theme.  I've recently been trying to hone my Distress Oxide blending skills.  Kristina Werner has a wonderful series on blending color combinations that I couldn't resist trying.  I blended Orange Marmalade, Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans to create this sunset background.
