Game Day

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.  We had a quiet, serene and very thankful weekend.  We were able to spend quality time at our cabin with no phone or internet. We drove around the area to inspect all the fire damage and were saddened by the complete devastation of our little community of Cobb. We were very blessed to have escaped any damage.

I enjoy these quiet weekends of solitude.  They allow me to get some digital scrapbooking done. While I'll share a few layouts over the week, many of my creations you'll have to return to see.  December 19th is the Club Scrap Watercolor Christmas Blog Hop and you wont want to miss it!

I am a huge football nut!  These pictures are from our Packer game in October. We are all such goof balls and totally act like kids when we visit Lambeau.  It's like our first time every time!

Thankful Blog Hop

If you're arrived here from Donna's blog, you're on the right trail, If not, please start from the beginning so you don't miss a thing.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays!  I love turkey, pumpkin anything and could roll around in the mash potatoes if it was socially acceptable.  However this year my husband has to work until Friday morning,  my brother works retail (I won't go on my rampage of stores open on Thanksgiving, but shame on you!) and other family members are out of town.  So...I'm working my way into everyone else's turkey dinners! The least I could do is bring some wine.  That is my forte. I got this! Moroccan Spice works beautifully for the wine tags I created.

To get 5 wine bottle tags out of one 12x12 sheet of cardstock. Trim at 8 inches, turn horizontally and trim at 9.25, 6.5, 3.75 and 2.75.  Trim the 4x12 piece horizontally at 8, turn and trim at 2.75. Score one small side at 2 and 2.5 (I find the tag rests better against the bottle with the two score lines versus one score line at 2.5.) Using a corner rounder, round top corners, punch a 1.5 circle above the 2 inch score mark. Decorate as desired.

Wine bottle tag was embossed with Darice embossing folder, rubbed Club Scrap gold ink lightly over raised area. Moroccan Spice stamps on label. Felt leaves unknown.

Trimmed the bottom of the tag. Repeatedly stamped background image.  Metals and ribbon in Moroccan Spice in Deluxe kit with embellishment option.

Cut apart border strip on bottom, Embellishments and stamps from Moroccan Spice.

Round edges of bottom as well as top. Distressed edges of cut apart. Stamped greeting on wooden embellishments by Paper Studio.
Ribbon, metals and brads included in Moroccan Spice.

Stamp edge of tag, color with Copics. Stamp on cork embellishment (so my thing), add Stickles.

Please continue hopping to see what Lilian has created for you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Thank you for stopping by.  I am thankful for your support!

Watercolor Christmas

I am just having so much fun creating backgrounds with the Ken Oliver"s Color Bursts. I was introduced to these amazing color powders at Club Scrap's Retreat. While playing with the color bursts, I realized how these would make awesome backgrounds with the new Watercolor Christmas Greetings to Go.  Alone the cards are beautiful, but I wanted to add a little extra something to personalize them.

Tin Anniversary stencil used with Color Bursts and water.
Flower Soft applied to snow area.

Spray water then apply Color Bursts.
Club Scrap black gems.

Apply Color Bursts to background and then spray water.
Queen & Co. jewels.

Emboss card, rub black oil pastel crayon on raised surface. Spritz with water and apply Color Burst
Dab with paper towel.
Queen & Co. pearls.

Water paper, apply Color Burst, dab with paper towel.
Club Scrap ribbon.

Water paper heavily, apply Color Burst and use heat gun to move colors and dry.
Club Scrap sequins, Queen & Co. gems.

Paint on dry Color Burst to a stamp with a water brush.
Club Scrap sequins and jewels.

Emboss card, rub white oil pastel crayon over raised area. Apply water and Color Bursts.

Take a second imprint from top of stencil used in first card.
Stickles on center of flowers.

Paint on watered down Color Bursts. Add drops of water onto card.
Stickles, Club Scrap ribbon.

The applications of Color Bursts are endless.  They're my new favorite medium!

Thanksgiving Pumpkins

Only one more week before Thanksgiving.  Mmmm...turkey, mashed potatoes, wine, and pie!  Hello!  Doesn't get much better than that.

I just wanted to share some small decorations I whipped up quickly.

Punch out 20-30 2" circles of paper.  I used the gold print paper from this month's Moroccan Spice kit.
I added a few brown circles for bulk and interest.  Fold circles in half and burnish edge.

Gather up circles back to back with the fold at the top.  Place between binder clips and brush on Bookbinding Glue to folded tops. Let dry. After drying I took a craft knife and sliced off 1/4' of one rounded side so the pumpkins would sit flat.

Release clips and fan out circles.  Glue the first and last circles together to create the pumpkins.
Take brown paper ribbon and twist in half, glue to top.
Add leaves or embellishments.  These would make cute place cards!

Artist Team Challenge: Believe!

I love the holidays! I love the sights, smells and weather of Christmas time. The colder the better!
November's challenge to the Club Scrap Artist Team is to create projects using holiday stamps.
I think I've got plenty of Christmas cards done so far so I wanted to create a decorative piece.
Lucky for me November's kit Moroccan Spice had the colors I was looking for.

I started with cutting out the banner pieces and alphabet on my Cricut (creating extra for goofs.)
Next step was to embellish. I stamped each banner piece making a light background, inked the edges and added the letters.
I stamped larger images, inked with the coordinating stencil, added some Copic coloring and Stickles. Fussy cut the images and adhered with dimensional adhesive squares.
Embellished with K&Co. holly leaves.

Here's a close up look at the banner pieces:

Hope you enjoyed my project.  Please take a look at what the other team members have created

Bling it, Girlfriend!

I love blinging up my cards!  Jewels add class, color and sparkle to a project.

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog's current challenge is to add bling to your creations.
I've been playing with my new Club Scrap Moroccan Spice Greetings to Go kit this weekend totally loving the deep rich colors.
I've also been trying to organize all my retreat goodies and came across this panel we made with Color Bursts.
We played with the Color Bursts on large manila tags that will allow us to use for many different projects.
It can be used as is, stamped on, or punched. The uses are unlimited.
These easel cards are so fun to use and allow for the inside of the card to shine as well.

Club Scrap papers, stamps, ribbon.  Ken Oliver's Color Bursts, Queen&Co. jewels.

Here are more easel cards using Color Bursts and the Moroccan Spice kit.

Please check out the Club Scrap Artist Team Challenge on Tuesday the 17th.

November Watercolor Technique

I was so happy to get some quality crafting time in the other day!  I was able to get caught up on challenges, projects and holiday card making.

Over at Club Scrap the November Technique challenge was to use watercolors in our artwork.
It's been awhile for me, so I had to blow off the dust of my watercolor crayon set from a past retreat.

I just happened to find a pack of watercolor paper at my local thrift store for $.50! Score!

I've been inspired by the fall foliage and the glorious colors.  So I thought I'd try to recreate that in my watercolors.  I also experimented with different inks to stamp the image.  Here I used the Earth hybrid ink by Club Scrap and the colors all blended beautifully.  I was very happy with the finished image. The new Moroccan Spice Greetings to Go colors were a perfect background.

Club Scrap Aspen and Retreat 2002 stamps. RubberNecker border stamps.

This second image is the exact same stamp and exact same watercolors on the exact same paper but with black India ink by Club Scrap. What a huge difference with a very stark image with waaaaay different color results.

Please join us in experimenting with your watercolors and add your link the Club Scrap linky party.
