Wear a Crown

I absolutely adore this digital layout!  Well...lets be honest here, the subject matter is beyond adorable! The original colors of the papers from Big Top were a bit bold for the look I was going with so I decreased the saturation and lightness. Easy to do by using the sliders in a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer in Photoshop Elements.

I couldn't help but use this newly acquired template from Gennifer Bursett. I'm in love with sunburst patterns and was super excited to find a digital version. The layout was created for Scrapaneers birthday celebration.

Big Top Blog Hop

Welcome to the Club Scrap Big Top Blog Hop!
If you've jumped here from Anne's blog you're in the right spot.
If not, head back to Club Scrap to see what Karen has created.

Big Top is such a fun, happy kit.  The colors are bold and inviting and the prints make me smile with memories of the circus or fair. The stamps...hysterical!  "Not my circus, not my monkeys." I might have said that a time or two at work.

Even though the prints are perfect for the circus, fairs or carnivals, I wanted to use the papers for something other, just to demonstrate how you don't have to use pictures of the theme.

Each kit comes with ALSB (Assembly Line Scrapbooking) instructions. I actually liked the layout designs and embellishing on some of the pages so I improvised and merged layouts 1 & 2 with 9 & 10.

 Layouts 1 and 2

Layouts 9 and 10

Supplies: Club Scrap papers, tags, ribbon, banner pieces and stamps. Pebbles alphabet. K&Co. leaves.

I thought the original tag was too dark and busy for this layout so I sanded it down and stamped a quote over it.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the ALSB combinations.
Please continue on to see what wonderful projects Josette has created for you.

Last Minute Big Tops

I love the colors of October's Big Top kit!  I've got some projects in the works right now but put everything on hold.  IT"S TIME FOR CLUB SCRAP RETREAT!  I'm jumping on a plane tomorrow at 0600 and off to Wisconsin!  I did manage to get a few cards done before then to tide you over.

I actually found these glassine envelopes in my stash, not really sure which kit they come from but they were fun to work with.  Reminds me of snack bags you get at the fair.

This first card has the image stamping on the outside of the bag with Stickles added.  The inside card is stamped with my nephews name, his birthday is coming up and thought this would be perfect.

The Farris wheel is my favorite stamp of the set.

I just love the colored twist ties (bread ties I like to call them).
Here I just used two different ink pads to ink the stamp.

All supplies: Club Scrap papers, stamps, ribbons, ties and pearls.

The next few posts will be retreat related. I have to see how much I can share without spoiling the surprise for those who have their retreat boxes still shipping. So you might just get teaser photos.
