Go Have Fun

I really need to start adding photos to my nekked ALSB pages!  As I was flipping through my nekked page album I found this Hypno layout had all the right sentiments and colors for my photos from Retreat 2017. What a fabulous group of gals!

Block Printing Christmas

One of the most laid back workshops at the annual Club Scrap Retreat  was the Block Printing Workshop.  We took foam sheets and cut our own images and words. We then adhered the foam pieces to book board, applied chalk paint with a brayer and "printed" our own images. I virtually copied Terri's bird and printed my own set adding a little Santa cap to make it a weirdly interesting Christmas card. I'm pretty sure only Terri is going find this amusing :)

A Splash of Color

One of things I love about Club Scrap Retreat is the theme nights. I stalk the post man waiting for my Retreat packet to arrive so I can start searching my closet and Pinterest for something creative.  Masquerade was the theme for Friday night which just happens to be when we received this awesome Masquerade kit. I think Tracey knew ahead of time that there was pink in it...

Trattoria Planner

Welcome to the Trattoria Blog Hop brought to you by Club Scrap.  Each month the talented Club Scrap owner, employees and members present a project, card or layout using the monthly featured collection.

If you just happened on the blog hop today because you're a regular reader of my blog, and you'd like to view the entire hop, you can  start back at Club Scrap. If you're already hopping and linked to me from the talented Kelly, you're in the right spot.

I absolutely ADORE the Trattoria collection!  The rich fall colors had me already, but it's the pasta images and food sayings that make this one of my favorite kits of the year. Wait until you see the adorable stencil!

One of this year's retreat projects was a flexi-planner.  I love having a paper planner.  Something I can touch, feel and open. With this planner you can have clasped pockets and open flaps.

1. Choose prints and trim to 8.25x4.25.
2. Round the appropriate corners of the prints and adhere papers to walls of planner using bookbinding glue.
3. Decorate flaps as desired. How freaking cute is this chef hat and mustache stencil?!

4. Add tabs to light gray pages. I actually wish I had done this step before adding my cover papers.  Maybe next time.

You can purchase the nekked Flexi Planner in the Pro Shop by heading over to Club Scrap. You can also download the digital templates to make more inside papers.

Thanks for hopping with us today! Please continue on to see what the talented Tina has created for you.

Gettysburg

I have a silly fascination with squished penny souvenirs. I'm like a little kid when I see these machines. I usually jump up and down clapping my hands holding out my hands to my husband. "Do you have any pennies?!" He just shakes his head and pretends not to know me. Luckily Cindy has the same fascination and didn't leave me stranded :)

I thought today would be an appropriate day to post this Gettysburg layout. It was the last time we all got together and caused chaos in Pennsylvania.  The Fabulous Four are flying into Wisconsin today for our annual Club Scrap Retreat.

Safe travels all my Club Scrap peeps. Keep an eye on my Facebook and Instagram accounts (#csretreat2017) for retreat updates. I can't wait to share with you all the retreat goodness when I get home!

Easy Dozen Album

I started this project at the 2015 Club Scrap October Retreat.  We made the Easy Dozen album and trimmed the borders and tags in class but I never got around to completing the pages.  We have a wedding coming up and thought this would be a great gift.  I'll tuck in a gift card too since they're a young couple just starting out. If you visit the Easy Dozen blog post at Club Scrap you can see Karen's finished pages.

Artist Team Bouquet

Welcome to April's Artist Team Blog Hop brought to you by Club Scrap. Each month the team presents a themed challenge or technique. The  purpose of the blog hop is to demonstrate the beauty of paper crafts.

If you just happened on the blog hop today because you're a regular reader of my blog, and you'd like to view the entire hop, you can start back at Club Scrap. If you're already hopping and linked to me from Donna's Blog, you're in the right spot.
Each member of the team is pulling inspiration from the Stamped Bouquet unmounted rubber stamps that debuted at the Club Scrap 2016 Retreat. You can see the retreat projects created here.  For this blog hop, I decided I wanted to keep a fairly monochromatic theme with kraft backgrounds.

1.  Stamp rose flower several times with watermark ink.
2.  Stamp cluster flower with watermark ink.
3.  Heat emboss all images with white embossing powder.
4.  Color roses with white pencil.
5.  Cut out several different layers from each rose.
6.  Layer with foam circles. Add bling.
7.  Stencil image on background panel with White ink. Heat set.
8.  Stamp sentiment on paper strip.
9.  Add elements together.

1. Place washi tape on background panel just below center.
2. Stamp cluster image with watermark ink and heat emboss in white.
3. Remove washi tape to leave a space.
4. Stamp sentiment in brown ink.
5. Color in image with white pencil.
6. Add small washi tape to left border.
7. Add gold Nuvo drops for interest.

1.  Distress edges of background panel.
2.  Stamp or hand draw frame.
3.  Die cut oval. Stamp sentiment and sprigs.
4.  Color sprigs with watermark pen.
5.  Stamp flower and leaves and heat emboss in white.
6.  Color flower with white pencil.
7.  Adhere oval with foam adhesive.
8.  Assemble pieces. Add gem.

These two cards are similar to above but with slightly different elements.

Color with a watermark pen.

A slightly large piece of washi tape was used to create a sentiment space. Background splattered with gelatos.

Thank you for hopping with us today.  I hope you've enjoyed these simple, mostly monochromatic cards. Please continue on to see what amazing project Tina has created using these beautiful stamps.

Eat. Sleep. Craft. Repreat.

I giggled loudly while putting this layout together. These Club Scrap girls are a hoot!  Every time I return from Retreat I say "That was the best Retreat ever!" October 16's retreat didn't disappoint. Rock N Roll night, the beach party, champagne shopping...the fun is endless.  OH...did I mention all the cool crafting techniques and projects we learned. You can see a recap here. I don't know how Club Scrap does it every year!

Canada Memento Holder

I had an amazing time on our latest road trip to Canada.  I got the chilly weather and snow that I was hoping for.  My husband...not as happy as I was ;-).  What a perfect opportunity to use my neglected Memento Holder from Retreat 2015. It's been sitting in my project bin just begging to be used. You can see Karen's version at Club Scrap.

This holder uses folded manila envelopes on the inside. The half with the clasp offers a secure place to stash loose items. This is where I stored all my receipts for fuel, food and RV parks. With a clever trimming trick, the other half of the manila envelopes become decorative pages with angled pockets, great for holding smaller items like tour maps. I tried to keep up on the journaling, ticket stubs and maps while on the road, leaving myself room for photos later.

Word of advise...you start the vacation off wrong if you forget your clothes!

We try to do the Hop on Hop off bus in every city we go to! Great way to get see a city and discover where you want to return to.

A vacation isn't complete until a visit to a winery.

There are still a few of these projects available in the CS Pro Shop if interested.

Mark your calendars and make sure to return!

Wedding Clipboard

I have been having so much fun creating these collage art pieces!  I first learned about these collage clipboards at the Club Scrap Retreat and now I'm an addict. I love being able to use up all my little embellishments and more importantly the bulky ones. I bought several of the pre-lined pages and created Christmas calendar gifts with them.

This clipboard collage is the one straight out of retreat. I used our wedding photo on this one. This one is for me :)

Club Scrap papers, ribbon, tags, leaf and charms, washi tape. 7 Gypsies word strips.

I'll share more with you but keep in mind I placed a digital tag over the photo to keep it a surprise from the lucky recipients.

Club Scrap papers, ribbon tags, charms, leaf, flower and bottle caps. Buttons from clothing. Docrafts calendars. 7 Gypsies word strips.
Club Scrap Hops & Barley collection. (No longer available)
Little clothes pins added to hang notes or other photos.

Club Scrap paper, wood embellishments, shells, stamps, vials and charms. Hobby Lobby driftwood. Memory Box flower die. Docrafts calendars.
Club Scrap Beaches Collection. (Paper no longer available)
I'm going to fill the little vials with sand.
Wooden oars stamped.

I've got several more to complete on the horizon that I would love to share with you.
But for now, I'm enjoying the cold, snowy weather of Canada!

Europe Long Stitch Album

I totally fell in love with this new "stuff", Kraft-Tex.  I don't even know how to describe it. It's a paper that feels like leather but sews, cuts and washes like fabric. I first got to fondle this "paper" at retreat when we created the Long Stitch Journal.

My step-dad Greg's birthday was last weekend so I thought this would be a perfect album for our trip to Europe. So, get ready for lots of pictures because I was so pleased with the outcome.

Please return back tomorrow where I share some tricks I used to complete this magnificent album.

Collage Clipboard

The Collage Clipboard was my second favorite project at this year's Retreat. I fell in love with the idea of using up all my little orphaned embellishments. All those embellishments that are too bulky for cards and layouts are perfect for this project!

 Class sample

The project comes with the printed background and all the paper pieces precut.

Ink all the edges

Mine is still a work in progress

Terri Zwicker out did herself in the class examples and I can see how she got carried away and completed one for each season.

Have an amazing weekend! I'm hoping for a great crafting weekend!

Stamping with Chalk Paints

I really had a hard time picking my favorite workshop at Retreat. I was torn between the Collage Clipboard and stamping with chalk paints. I think the stamping won out because I really loved learning a new technique with different art mediums.

This is Jacqueline Carney's brilliant work involving stamping with pigment parchment ink, paint slightly over the stamped image and re-stamping in black ink. We received the pigment inks in parchment and black as gifts. Club Scrap is awesome like that!

12x12 layout

Here's my cards from class.

The chalk paint technique is perfect when you need to cover up some mistakes in stamping. So...you'll be seeing A LOT of this technique with me :) I picked up a few cans of paint in the CS Pro Shop but I see myself going to Home Depot soon...

My Apologies

I am so sorry I let you all down! I had every intention of sharing details of October Retreat with you. I decided to travel to WI without my laptop and downloaded the Blogger app on my phone to use instead. That was worthless for the most part. I couldn't get pictures to upload correctly and the whole thing locked up. I did however try to post many photos on Facebook. Retreat was amazing and as usual, the Club Scrap staff outdid themselves!

Here's a short recap with more to follow.
I seriously got off the plane and had to be back to work in 10 hours.

Loved this Zen-like writing class!

The tool Tricia created for this project is a time saver!
Love the stitching for this book.
I don't even know how to describe this paper/fabric used for this cover but I bought tons of it!

The gifts were very thoughtful and will be well used.

Stay tuned for more retreat photos tomorrow!
