Happy Saturday!  Just a few days left before Christmas.  I had the fortune of attending several work Christmas parties and am truly blessed this holiday season.  I couldn't wait to digitally scrap and share some of the fun captured in photos.

Sparkle & Shine Christmas

You might have gathered that I love to visit some of my local thrift shops.  You can find such great items for more than half the cost.  I like to look for things I can use in my paper crafting projects.  I came across these luscious red velvet poinsettias for $1. I pulled out the plastic center and separated the flowers layers making them easier to use.

 

I knew right away they would be a perfect match with the silver matted cards from the Night at the Met's Greeting to Go collection. I embossed the beautiful silver paper with an Echo Park embossing folder for added Christmas interest.

Old World Christmas

I recently scored an old World Christmas kit by Club Scrap.  It became available through their Grab & Go promotions.  You have to be quick when vintage collections hit the store, they seriously can go before you even put it in your shopping cart!

 

I was delighted to see these three wise men cut aparts in the collection.  They came in handy when I had to quickly make 12 cards for hubby's work. Using the sketch from Club Scrap's November sketch challenge these cards came together rather nicely.

Holly Jolly Christmas

I'm at it again, creating tall and skinny cards with left over border strips.  When I receive a kit I usually only ALSB maybe half of the layouts and then use the rest of the collection for cards or projects. In the card below I used a border strip from Scandinavian Holidays.

Christmas in July

The first thing I do when a kit arrives on my doorstep is to take out the paper and look at the designs. It would probably frighten some of you to know that I fondle feel the texture and sometimes even smell the paper. Some designs of the Office Space collection immediately reminded me of Christmas. A retro, groovy Christmas. I immediately took out these specific papers and made panels with them.  I used a previous sketch from May to create this first card. There was quite a bit of white space that was perfect for Christmas washi tape.

This next card was created from an older Mojo Monday sketch.

  

I was able to create 10 cards with these panels. I'm now ahead of the game! 

Last year I was chastised for sending out store bought cards. 

Not this year. I promise!

Watercolor Christmas Blog Hop

Club Scrap partnered with beautiful watercolor designer Swarup Murthy to design a holiday collection for their members. What a huge success!  Collections includes papers, rubber stamps, a card kit, a digital scrapbooking kit and even Christmas card templates!  You can view some of my Watercolor card samples using Color Bursts in  this previous post.

 

Every Christmas my husband and I travel to Disneyland to enjoy the absolutely stunning Christmas displays that only Disney can do. As usual, I have tons of photos but limited time to scrap them. Luckily for me included in the Watercolor Christmas paper kit are the ALSB instructions for putting together 8 pages.  All the cutting and assembly instructions are provided.

 

I used the top two layouts but rotated the right page to fit my horizontal photos. I also substituted many of the tags to fit more photos.

  I couldn't just stop there though.  I've been creating with the digi kit as well.

I whipped up a few digital tags with the Watercolor Christmas digital kit, printed them out on my home printer and cut them out. I started to get carried away with some of the tags and realized that fancy shapes were just too time consuming to cut out. With the permission of Club Scrap, Inc. Watercolor Christmas

I am just having so much fun creating backgrounds with the Ken Oliver"s Color Bursts. I was introduced to these amazing color powders at Club Scrap's Retreat. While playing with the color bursts, I realized how these would make awesome backgrounds with the new Watercolor Christmas Greetings to Go.  Alone the cards are beautiful, but I wanted to add a little extra something to personalize them.

Tin Anniversary stencil used with Color Bursts and water.

Flower Soft applied to snow area.

Spray water then apply Color Bursts.

Club Scrap black gems.

Apply Color Bursts to background and then spray water.

Queen & Co. jewels.

Emboss card, rub black oil pastel crayon on raised surface. Spritz with water and apply Color Burst

Dab with paper towel.

Queen & Co. pearls.

Water paper, apply Color Burst, dab with paper towel.

Club Scrap ribbon.

Water paper heavily, apply Color Burst and use heat gun to move colors and dry.

Club Scrap sequins, Queen & Co. gems.

Paint on dry Color Burst to a stamp with a water brush.

Club Scrap sequins and jewels.

Emboss card, rub white oil pastel crayon over raised area. Apply water and Color Bursts.

Take a second imprint from top of stencil used in first card.

Stickles on center of flowers.



Paint on watered down Color Bursts. Add drops of water onto card.

Stickles, Club Scrap ribbon.

 

The applications of Color Bursts are endless.  They're my new favorite medium!
