Sao Miguel, Portugal

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had an amazing holiday weekend. I was able to get some crafting time in and completed scrapping my vacation photos. I had such a fabulous time remembering all the gorgeous sites we explored.  Sao Miguel in the Azores was our first stop on land after 8 days at sea.  The water filled craters were breathtaking and by far my favorite destinations.

It's a Plaid Plaid World Layouts

Several months ago I shared a travel memento journal I made with the It's a Plaid Plaid World page collection. I've been working on scrapping our Ireland/Iceland adventure and completed layouts using the same collection.

Make Life a Great Journey

I promised to share some paper layouts with you now that I'm finally getting caught up.  Here's a layout from an impromptu family reunion to Las Vegas.  My brother and his family were in Vegas on business so we all decided to meet up. It's very interesting to see Vegas from a 3 year old's perspective.

Escape Room

What a great team effort getting out of the escape room! We were able to solve all the puzzles and find the locks with two minutes to spare. Although, "wino" wasn't one of the puzzle answers it certainly was THE answer of the day.

Secret Caverns

This is the last layout of memories from my East Coast trip this summer.  I  stayed with my college roomie where we spent hours catching up on the last 10 years of our lives. That was the last time I saw her but we did still keep in touch. We decided to do a day trip from Albany and came across this little known treasure.  The Secret Caverns.  A quirky attraction with super friendly and knowledgable owners.

I couldn't wait to use my National Parks Remix collection with my photos.  I've mentioned before that the original National Parks made the top of the list for my All Time Top 10 collections and I bought every collection Club Scrap designed.

Here's the original ALSB sketch.

Bowman Orchards

The wait is over! My Orchard kit has arrived and is as beautiful as everyone has raved. The watercolor images by Swarup Murthy are just stunning. I knew that the photos from my recent trip back east would be perfect.  My dear friend Melanie and I went blueberry picking one morning and ended up picking much more than blueberries.  Of course we ate quite a few also...you know...quality control ;-)

I chose the ALSB directions for Layout 5&6 to complete these pages.

Why struggle over page design when Club Scrap does that for you? Every kit comes with it's own separate cutting and design instructions. I changed some small aspects of the design to better fit my photos.

How cute are those bottle cap embellishments?

Idea Deck

Pattern Play has arrived on my doorstep.  The stamps are cut and Mount-It applied. I'm hoping to get some crafting time in today and start sharing some creations. In the mean time, I'm still sharing projects from Adirondacks.

May's Idea Deck challenge only had one option for cards. I was super excited to see that they were my favorite style of card! I love all the surface area the Tall & Skinny cards have. I used 4 of Spades from Card Making Idea Deck Vol. II to create these beauties.

I love how these crystal drops dry clear.  Looks just like water.

Yosemite

I love Yosemite!  I've backpacked through the High Sierra's twice and would love to do it again. It might take me a little longer than last time but I just love the outdoors. I stole these photos from my sister-in-law's trip to Yosemite last summer. They're perfect for the Adirondacks deluxe collection. I didn't do anything fancy in designing the layout. In fact the design is part of the Adirondacks ALSB layouts. The cutting and assembly instructions are free every month to anyone.
Club Scrap papers, stencil, tags, book plate, ribbons and borders.
I even did the stenciling which I seem to ignore since I'm generally not very good at it.  My newest trick it to add washi tape to all the edges and cover the holes I don't want ink in.  The less chance for mistakes the better.  I just use a washi tape that I'm not fond of.

The original layout.

I wish I knew where these patches came from. I would really like more!

Past & Present Pismo

April's Past & Present challenge was to create a project using one of three chosen collections.  Sunken Treasure being the chosen oldest kit, debuting in November 2001.  I can't even believe I have paper from 2001 but I've been holding on to this one.  I love the handmade paper with gorgeous teal flecks imbedded. The embossed images on each side have a metallic shimmer to it which goes perfectly with the bronze paper. Check out that crab washi tape. I purchased this tape to go with the Boardwalk collection but never got around to using it.  How cute is that!

Accordion Pocket File Holder

This Accordion Pocket file folder has been a huge hit over at Club Scrap.  This is a fantastic organizing time saver if you're an ALSB (Assembly Line Scrapbooker).  Every month Tricia creates two sets of ALSB instructions (for both Deluxe and Lite kits) and they are FREE for everyone, not just members.

The cutting instructions for each kit are super easy, it's keeping all the components organized afterwards that can present a problem.  Tricia has come up with this AMAZING accordion folder to help keep your parts and pieces in line.
Now...I'll be honest here.  I really struggled with this project.  I tried SEVERAL times before getting it right.  The little side accordion folds kept flying off.  I routinely adhered the dividers to the wrong folds.  I may have uttered some bad words.  But I finally got it together and it was worth the blood and sweat. Literally.   ended up with two paper cuts. Hahaha.

You have two options for purchasing this organizer. The Accordion Pocket File has everything you need to complete this project. The Accordion Pocket Instructions are just the instructions needed to finish the project with your own supplies.  The project forum has some members examples if you need more inspiration.

Venice Canals

How beautiful is the Delft Digital Collection?!  I love the broken porcelain look to the images! I immediately started pinning images on Pinterest.  I didn't even know Delft was a thing :) I've been having fun creating my own paper tiles with embossing ink and powders.

March's Idea Deck Challenge is to use the 2 of Clubs from any of the five decks.  I actually chose the 8 1/2 x 11 formatted sketch and just converted it to 12x12. Much easier to do when it's digital. The blue skies and striped poles help coordinate the photos and papers.
Yes...that is a journaling card.  I'm really trying to be better about that.
This digital journaling card was much easier to use than I had imagined.

Winter Travels

This layout was created using the sketch from ALSB card deck Vol. 1 Queen of Diamonds. It originally had 8 photo squares on the right side. I really didn't have that many photos that could be cropped down so I just made them part of the background. I embossed the squares with a snowflake embossing folder to give them some definition.

We had such a great trip in December.  Traveling in our RV up to Vancouver, Canada.  We stopped to see friends and family on our way back down to Cali. It was cold, snowy and rainy and I loved every minute!

Explore Lake Tahoe

I love the outdoors!  So when we had a few days to get away a few months ago, we headed for Lake Tahoe. These photos went great with the National Parks collection released in June 2015.  This collection is on my All Time Top 10 list. It's been released as a remix and sold out lightning fast.  There has been rumor of another release and I suggest you buy it before I get to it ;-).

Club Scrap papers, tags, borders and ribbon. Woodpile birch discs.
I love using unique embellishments. These discs are a favorite of mine.

Each collection comes with ALSB (Assembly Line Scrapbooking) directions with diagrams and cutting instructions. Here's what this looks like according to the directions.  You can see that I rotated one side to fit my horizontal photos better and changed up the embellishments just a bit.

This month sometimes I'll share with you All Time Top 10 list.

Happy Retirement!

These nekked (naked) Assembly Line Pages from Cinema have been sitting in my binder since August 2014. I really didn't know what to do with them until these photos from a good friend's retirement/50th birthday party. They reminded me of counting down the years until retirement. Thank you for your service to the community, Jeff!

Club Scrap papers, washi tape, ribbon and stars. Karen Foster plates. Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Wood embellishments specifically made for It's All About the Scrapbook.

All collections come with free downloadable cutting instructions for creating pages. Just add photos and journaling.

I'm digging into my washi tape stash to enter these layouts into the Lasting Memories 327 Challenge.

Really Cool Old Ladies

I just love the fact that each Club Scrap collection comes with ALSB instructions to help get the creative juices flowing. I generally choose two to three sets of layouts/sketches from each kit to ALSB (Assembly Line Scrapbook) leaving myself at least some paper to create cards and projects with.

Here's the original page designs for layout 11& 12 as posted on Club Scrap.

Here's my finished version.  I changed some of the papers to coordinate and added a few extra photos. Remember that these designs are just a guide. You can do whatever you want with them. I usually take so many pictures that I need at least 6 spaces to tell my story.

Don't have this blue print in you collection? You can easily change the ivory raised print to any color by inking over the paper and wiping away the excess ink. The ink will adhere to the paper and not the raised embossed print.  Thanks Karen for that idea.

Thank you for stopping by today.  May you have a very safe New Year!

Paradise ALSB Cards

I'm joining in on the ALSB challenge at Club Scrap using the six of Clubs from Card Deck Vol. II. Here I created four cards from one 12x12 and one 8.5x11 sheet of paper. I love that the Idea Decks give you cutting instructions and sketches to help get the creative juices flowing.

I cut according to the instructions and stamped the larger panels.
I then just started adding some fun embellishments, tags and ribbon.

So I screwed up the cutting instructions and had to wing this last one. (This explains the odd ball pink card).

Venice

I did it! I finished the Europe Album! I saved the best for last. Venice was my all time favorite destination in Europe. I just couldn't get over the canals, food and wine. So glad we took the extra time to make our way there. The European Train experience was quite the adventure!

Tenerife, Spain

Tenerife is the largest island of the Canary Islands and was our first stop after 7 days at sea. It was nice to put our feet on solid ground and Tenerife is absolutely beautiful! They have amazing architecture and parks. The paella was pretty delicious too!

This layout was created using the Office Space layout sketch available to kit members. The paper was so perfect for my photos that I didn't embellish much.  I even dug out those sticker alphabet sheets!

Malaga

Malaga was one of my favorite destinations in Spain. I loved exploring the old castles, theaters and bullrings! Speaking of exploring...we found all these amazing sites while actually looking for the Picaso Museum. We finally found it in a spot that couldn't have been more obvious!  Malaga also had some pretty amazing sangria! When the clouds gave way to some fabulous sunshine, that sangria tasted heavenly.

This layout was created by using this month's Office Space ALSB directions.
Some minor changes and memorabilia from Malaga were added.

Reflection Hypno

I've finally started scrapbooking my Europe vacation. "Finally" means something different to everyone. To some, finally means you've had those photos for 10 years. For me, it means I've had them two months! I started with going through my ALSB (all done, just needed photos) pages. Funny how I came across these Hypno pages already completed.  We just had an Artist Team challenge last month using these papers. I didn't feel the need to embellish much since the paper is busy enough. These photos were from my favorite places on the cruise ship.  Mainly...the wine cellars :) I mean, we were on the ship for 7 days at sea.  What else was I to do?
