I tend to buy everything wine related.  So I couldn't pass up this wine glass embossing folder when I spotted it at a Scrapbook Expo.  I really didn't know what to do with it though once I got it home.  It's not really a pattern to use as a background.

 

These cards are fun and funky to put together as you can see from an earlier post. So when I was looking for embossing folders to use with the Paradise Greeting to Go collection I had an "Ah-Ha" moment. I'll use it as the front panel.

 

1.  Emboss the two sections and use the "enjoy" tag to link them together.

 

2. Stamp the inside panel with Wine Background stamp from Just for Fun Rubber Stamps.

 

3.  Embellish.

A few days back I shared with you my recent handmade paper gifts. Well I didn't stop with the flowers. I wanted to create some tinted papers as well. I added some orange papers to the blender when creating the pulp.  Giving me these beautiful ivory papers with flecks of orange.

I stamped the top of each page to personalize it. Scored and folded in half.

I originally was going to make each envelope but these beautiful ivory satiny envelopes arrived from Club Scrap a few days before.

 

So...where's the Paradise collection part come in? Right here! It's all about presentation!

 

 

I created this based on the Sunflower Notecard Holder after seeing it in person at the Scrapbook Expo. I did things a bit different than the posted instructions but the form is the same. I just love that adorable little stamp pocket inside!

Paradise Greetings to Go

I love experimenting with new shapes and folds of cards. Included in Paradise's Greetings to Go collection are these cards with open space attaching the bottom portion to the top portion with a tag of sorts. It's fun to have a little peak at the inside panel where you have the option of a greeting or additional images.

Paradise ALSB Cards

I'm joining in on the ALSB challenge at Club Scrap using the six of Clubs from Card Deck Vol. II. Here I created four cards from one 12x12 and one 8.5x11 sheet of paper. I love that the Idea Decks give you cutting instructions and sketches to help get the creative juices flowing.

 

I cut according to the instructions and stamped the larger panels.

I then just started adding some fun embellishments, tags and ribbon.

So I screwed up the cutting instructions and had to wing this last one. (This explains the odd ball pink card).

 



Be a Flamingo

I love this photo of my mom and I. It was taken in Barcelona on Las Ramblas.

We were amused at the size of the sangria and enjoyed every last drop!

Disney Paradise

Hey...I think this is the first layout I've shared using the Paradise collection. I've been using it for projects and cards but decided the colors went great with my recent Disney photos. I was super excited to break out my coveted Disney washi tape!

Flock Star

One of my favorite quotes in this Greetings to Go collection is "Party like a flock star." How cute is that?! This kit is ripe with flamingo stamps, images, tags, ribbon and charms. All a perfect addition to my pink feathers!

Acrylic Block Stamping

Happy Friday!

November's technique challenge over at Club Scrap is to go "painty" and create background panels using your acrylic stamping blocks with different art mediums.  I was playing with my Gelatos and wanted to see how that would turn out.  When I started coloring I realized that I was coloring on the grid side by mistake.  No worries...let's play this out and see what happens. 

 

 

 I colored on my Tim Holtz acrylic blocks with gelatos, sprayed it with water and stamped.

 

 

I totally love the faint grid pattern that developed.

 

 

Now to created something with these. 

I had the Paradise Greetings to Go handy and couldn't resist using these uniquely folded cards.

 

 I stamped on the tickets but it's really light. Nuvo Crystal drops are my new fav.

New Adventures

Aren't the colors of the Paradise collection just so warm and fun?!  This digital layout was created using this month's Fiddle Dee Dee Designs Free Designs Template.  I love that I don't have to design the layout, just plug in photos, papers and embellishments. The embellishments this month are transparent so I created many layers on top of layers to make them look more solid.

 

This photo is from a trip to Bali and the colors couldn't be more perfect! The quote is says it all. We took a new adventure almost every day.  Doing things I never thought imaginable!

 

 

Say Yes to Pink

All I can say is "WOW!" I absolutely love the new Paradise collection by Club Scrap.  The colors are spectacular (especially that pink) and the double sided papers are so fun to tear with the opposite color showing.

 

I always dive right into the Greetings to Go portion of the kits. After getting a sneak peak at the different folds of this collection I couldn't wait to start creating some cards.

 

I try to use a different medium each month and wanted to see how the stamps would look with Gelatos. I love how the Gelatos bleed into the image and fill in some areas, which work perfectly with the outlined Paradise stamps.

How do I love that pink netting/ribbon?! Let me count the ways!
How about the pink feathers?  I have a whole bag of neon colored feathers that you'll be seeing a lot of this month.

 

 

I consider my style to be a combination Mixed Media style using the Gelatos and ink and Shabby and Chic with fun embellishments. This card was created with The Card Concept's Pretty in Pink challenge in mind. I love pink!

 

 

 

Another Day in Paradise

It's here! The Paradise collection has arrived! I absolutely love the bright, bold colors of this kit, especially that pink! I had already started playing with the digital version before the paper collection hit my front doorsteps.

 

Today I wanted to share on how to extend your digital kits by making an overlay with a printed paper.

 

First open up your papers.  Here I created a new document and stretched the paper to fit 12x12. Some people had concerns about the quality of the newly created 12x12 papers but I've had them printed with no quality distortion.

Next with your Magic Wand selection tool set to Quick Select, click on the white background.

Then go to Select>Similar.

Marching ants will appear. Hit delete.

You're left with this background overlay with a transparent background. Save as a .png file.

That's it, easy peasy.  I usually do this with most of the papers when the kit arrives.

 

 

I used the paper for the top but on the bottom page you can see a page with the overlay.
