Boardwalk Starbursts

Happy Monday!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

As you'll see, I"m still playing with the Boardwalk collection. These colors are so bright and patriotic. The stamps allow you to use all different types of markers and pencils to color. If you're not into coloring, the stamps are beautiful on their own.

I have tons of scraps left over from various projects and didn't want to throw any away. So I chose to do a starburst technique.  I have tried this in the past with disastrous results.  I had the certain number of rectangles at certain sizes that the instructions called for and still couldn't put it together.

Trial and error has taught me...who cares!  Take all your scraps and cut them into whatever sized rectangles.

Cut all the rectangles from one edge to the opposite edge.

Leaving you with different sized triangles.

Now pick your focal point...doesn't matter where...you pick.
Start adhering your triangles to a paper mat with the long point at your center.
Leave a space in between each triangle.  This allows for leeway in the end.

When you get to the last piece, just pick a piece that mostly fits.
See how my center doesn't even really line up...we'll cover that up.
Don't sweat it. No one will know.
Trim the edges of your mat.

Your trimmer will get gummed up so use long scissors if you have them.

Decorate as you desire. I like to put my embellishments over the center point.

Easy peasy!
