Sepia Sunflowers

August's Technique Challenge over at Club Scrap is to create a sepia look. Artist Team member, Hetty demonstrated how to create a sepia look with vintage distressing inks. She even links to her blog for more sepia ideas.

Club Scrap papers, ribbon, charms and stamp. EK Success punch. Sizzix embossing folder.

The first time I saw these Sunflower stamps I knew I wanted to use my Pan Pastels for the coloring. I love collage stamps! They keep me from having to do all the hard work of masking and stamps.

This first stamp your collage stamp with watermark ink and let dry. Next rub the Pan Pastels over the image lightly and blend to get an even look.

Added micro beads in the center of flowers.

Here are more examples using multiple colors with the Pan Pastels. I added some gold to give the yellow a little sparkle.

If you'd like to join in the sepia fun be sure to link up your projects here by August 31 for a chance to win a Club Scrap gift certificate.

  1. Ooooh! I like the bit of color on the last two and the scraps of patterned paper. Neat technique with the pan pastels!
