White on White

Less is more is celebrating it's 5th birthday!
In honor of their 5th year challenging crafters, this week's challenge is to create a card using white on white.  This was a fun challenge for me because it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I like color.  White on white screams wedding to me. The challenge is...there are a lot of different "whites" out there! I saw this quilt pattern on Pinterest and wanted to duplicate it but I don't have one of those fancy score boards that you can measure and score accurately.  My board is old school with one score bar in the center. So I had to create the pattern with a ruler and pencil first, then score.
It looks labor intensive but it actually moves along quickly.  Once I had the pattern scored I added little button brads to give it some charm. Die cut title swirl, stamp sentiment, add lace and flower and you're done. I love, love, love the finished card.  Now...someone needs to get married!
Club Scrap papers, stamp, ribbon and flower. Recollections brads. Spellbinder die.

Woven Strands Blog Hop

Welcome to the Club Scrap Woven Strands blog hop! If you've arrived here from Lilian's Leaf Studio you are in the right place.   If you've happened upon the hop, please don't miss anything and start with Karen at Club Scrap. When I first received the Woven Strands kit from Club Scrap I immediately thought of our family reunion after seeing the stamps.  The tree and quotes were just screaming "family".  I gathered up my photos, chose the papers that complimented my photos and then found a layout in the Idea Deck that worked with my photos.  Here I chose the 5 of Clubs from Volume V. I left a few elements out and added a few of my own. I really liked the woven circles but they were 12x12, so I just cut them down to meet the 8.5x11 requirement for the directions.  I added one of my favorite quote stamps from Tahiti on the paper strips. Supplies: Woven Strands papers, quilted embellishments, jewels and stamps. Thicker alphabet, Martha Stewart punch, Queen &a…
