Woven Strands Blog Hop

Welcome to the Club Scrap Woven Strands blog hop! If you've arrived here from Lilian's Leaf Studio you are in the right place.
If you've happened upon the hop, please don't miss anything and start with Karen at Club Scrap.

When I first received the Woven Strands kit from Club Scrap I immediately thought of our family reunion after seeing the stamps.
The tree and quotes were just screaming "family".

I gathered up my photos, chose the papers that complimented my photos and then found a layout in the Idea Deck that worked with my photos.
Here I chose the 5 of Clubs from Volume V.

I left a few elements out and added a few of my own. I really liked the woven circles but they were 12x12, so I just cut them down to meet the 8.5x11 requirement for the directions.  I added one of my favorite quote stamps from Tahiti on the paper strips.

Supplies: Woven Strands papers, quilted embellishments, jewels and stamps. Thicker alphabet, Martha Stewart punch, Queen & Co. pearls.

For the reunion I had made everyone a "Horst 2015" reunion charm with washers and metal stamps. They were a perfect embellishment for this page!

The stamps worked great as an embellishment as well. I stamped and cut out some of the Celtic knots, layered the images to create the flowers. One image tucked behind the flowers look great as the leaves.  I was having way too much fun! I actually got carried away and had a "Kay Moment". I tried to use my craft knife to cut out the centers of the "leaves". That wasn't so pretty and I was afraid I'd lop off a finger so I stopped at one and quickly discarded it.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please continue on to see what amazing project Anne has for you!

  7. I love the idea that you used a card from the Idea Deck with a few modifications as your starting point. Your use of the knot stamps as "flowers" and "leaves" is truly inspired. Love the charm (esp. when I first saw it on Instagram!), and it IS the perfect finishing touch for the page.
