Saguenay

Happy Monday!  Hope everyone is recovering quickly from Super Bowl Sunday!
Some of you might have even completed a whole lot of scrapping.

I'm sharing another layout from our vacation. A quaint little town called Saguenay in Canada. We got to see a glass blowing demonstration and a visited a soap making shop. We stocked up on Christmas gifts at the soap shop, plus a few goodies for myself.

Color Throwdown

Happy Superbowl Sunday! I'm looking forward to the commercials, food and wine...and beating the boys at work in the football pool!

Color Throwdown is having a challenge this week using red, pink, gray and light blue.  Since I had a sliver left of my gelli print paper with red and pink, I thought I'd put that to good use.  I was at a loss for what design so I turned to the February Sketch challenge at Club Scrap that used scraps. I'm still waiting for Julie to come up with cutting directions...I really had a hard time with one for some reason. But I love the end result!  I used some embossing folders, jewels, twine and stamps to add a little of dimension and interest to the scraps.

Quebec City

Happy Friday!  Thought I'd share more layouts.  Hope you're not getting tired of our Canada trip, cause I've got more ;-) This is from Quebec City where we jumped on a cruise ship and toured some of the East Coast of Canada.  We basically ate our way down the coast line.  We loved this city and all it's levels.  It was quite chilly that day with some snow flurries. I sprayed some white acrylic paint to give it that snowy look...not sure if that's how it came across.  Looks more like I sneezed.

Have a Heart

Happy Thursday!  I'm still creating cards with my gelli prints.  Love to Scrap! read my mind when they posted their new challenge.  Hearts!  One of the gelli prints included red and white acrylic paints background and using the Big Deal stencil from Club Scrap I applied gold paint on top. These prints turned out to be one of my favorites!
Club Scrap papers, stencils and stamps. Gelli Plates. Prismacolor pencils.

The heart swirl is left over from the Mirror Image stamping technique and I'm not sure where the gold heart ribbon came from...but I need more!

Red, Black and White Webbing

I'm in a lull right now as I wait for my new Club Scrap kit to arrive.  This is the time that I get caught up on layouts, projects and Greetings to Go kits that have been neglected. So, I decided to pull out some non-CS stamps and create.

I'm a little behind the times but I am SO IN LOVE with the blueprint stamps by Tim Holtz! I've been dabbling in these stamps and having fun.  Can You Case it? has a new challenge using red, white and black.  The timing is perfect for this challenge as I had just created some background panels using white webbing spray paint from Krylon. I first learned about this product at a Club Scrap retreat several years ago and actually stumbled across two small cans of it at my local scrapbook store. It makes awesome backgrounds!

Club Scrap papers and sentiment, Tim Holtz stamp, Copic markers, Stickles and Krylon webbing paint. Lace from a swap. Pearl by Queen&Co.

Wisconsin Road Trip

Last week you got to see the fun we had at retreat in October and at the Packer game. Today I'm sharing the layout from our road journeys before, during and after retreat.  This is the first year that we actually took some extra time to explore the wonderful state of Wisconsin.  We traveled up to Door County, Sturgeon Bay, up and around the tip of the "thumb" of Wisconsin. We dined on some wonderful cheeses and did tastings at a winery, brewery and distillery. You know...to experience Wisconsin.

Remember You

Most times, people scrap the happy moments in life. The vacations, the birthdays, Christmas and friendships. Sometimes it feels good to scrap the not-so happy moments, to express things that cannot be said for many.

Last week we celebrated the life and death of a dear man.  "Celebrated" seems like an unlikely word but he had battled cancer nearly three years longer than the two months the specialists had given him to live.  He always maintained that God is the only one to "punch his timecard". He always felt that either in life or death he would win.  Win in living by getting more time with this family and win in death by being with his Lord in heaven.
